Graduation

Our youngest daughter, Melody, graduated from high school yesterday! I had a moment or two of almost tears, but I didn't want anyone to laugh at me so I always worked hard to hold them back. We've had such a good time with just Melo this past year. I love her so much and think she's so beautiful. I had to make a post just about her in celebration and honor of this milestone in her life. Thanks, Melo, for making me feel good as a mom.

Family Time

We've decided to try having a monthly family activity. Last month it was the Easter Egg hunt. This month it was hot dogs over a firepit, and lots of fun in the yard. A little relaxation indoors works, too.

TADA!

My sewing room countertop has arrived! This is a pasted montage of the whole thing, so if the proportions seem a little off, it was the photo-editing...my fault.
It's gorgeous, though, don't you think?!

Retiring from Avon

The day I never thought I'd see is finally here. I've decided to quit selling Avon. I first experienced Avon by subbing for another rep, Bruce, while he went on vacation. That was back in the BYU student days. Soon after that, I married and moved to Texas, where I embarked on my own Avon career. More than 25 years later, I've decided to quit ringing doorbells and I've given all my customers to a good friend and colleague named Geri Taylor. If you need any Avon, please go to youravon.com/geritaylor I can still answer questions, but Geri can get all your stuff for you.
Thanks to all for the memories, and your friendship and support.

Autism Walk

Last Saturday, in the pouring rain, our family participated in the Autism Awareness Walk. Well, we stood around under our gazebo in the pouring rain, anyway. By the time we actually started walking, the rain had pretty much stopped. The rain started and stopped all day! Lincoln is such a precious boy, and is progressing wonderfully through the help of his Autism pre-school, and lots of family--especially his tireless mother.

Kitchen Floor

We have a new kitchen floor! It still has grout scum on it--I haven't done the final ammonia-based scrub job--but it sure looks nice. Very classy. John and I chose the tile, John suggested the pattern, and Rob did the dirty work while John was with the Young Men on a bike trip in Moab. Melody and I helped a little as we pulled nails out of the subfloor.
